A 20-year-old man was nearly beaten to death in a brothel in Duisburg’s old town earlier this week. The violent incident happened early Tuesday morning around 1:30 a.m. on Vulkanstraße.
According to police, the young man, a Ukrainian national, got into a fight with two security guards working at the brothel. The two men, aged 35 and 53, are accused of beating him so badly that he lost consciousness and suffered life-threatening injuries.
The police arrested the two guars the same night
Witnesses quickly called the police and gave first aid to the injured man. Thanks to their detailed descriptions, officers were able to arrest the two suspects that same night. Both men are German citizens.
At the request of the Duisburg public prosecutor’s office, a judge ordered the two suspects into pre-trial custody on Wednesday.
They are being charged with attempted manslaughter and aggravated assault.
The reason for the attack is still unknown. Police are continuing their investigation.
