Police ask for help finding more victims in Neunkirchen robbery

Police in Lower Austria are investigating a robbery in the Neunkirchen district where a man was drugged and robbed. They believe there could be more victims linked to the suspects—a 22-year-old Romanian woman and a 47-year-old Austrian man, both of whom are in custody. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The Wiener Neustadt Public Prosecutor’s Office has shared photos of the suspects to help with the investigation.

What happened?

On November 27, 2024, a 49-year-old man met a prostitute online and invited her to his home. Later her accomplice also arrived. The three drank alcohol together, but police say the suspects secretly put a sedative in the man’s drink.

The man passed out and woke up the next morning to find his ATM card and cash gone. The suspects had taken over €10,000 from his bank account.

The next day, November 28, 2024, police arrested the suspects in their Neunkirchen apartment.

They found evidence of the crime and some of the stolen money, which was returned to the victim. However, the suspects denied doing anything wrong.

Police think the suspects might have committed similar crimes against other people. They are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience to report it. The goal is to uncover all the suspects’ actions and bring justice to the victims.
